SKT Wedding

With over 89 illustrations and 25 different forms, SKT pieces can be customized to recall a specific story or memory. We like to think of them as durable, functional heirlooms.

Favors and ring dishes

Pre-ceremony, our hand-painted dishes in the orange, vine and rose window pattern are a beautiful backdrop for photographing wedding rings. These organic hand-built dishes feature a raw porcelain clay ground with detailed hand-painted glaze.

For the reception, our hand-built woodgrain dishes make great wedding favors. Woodgrain dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe, making them a versatile and memorable favor that is certain to be a hit with your guests. Custom illustrations, such as the stone bridge shown below, can be drawn for wedding favor orders of 150 pieces or more offered at a discounted rate.

Gifts

Our durable high-fired porcelain can be made-to-order with any of our 89 illustration options, in white or celadon glaze. SKT pieces make great customized gifts for couples. Choose the illustration that best suits their personality or commemorates their wedding location.

Our most versatile form for weddings is our vase, great for holding floral bouquets or utensils. SKT vases made for the reception to hold bouquets later serve as the centerpiece of a kitchen for utensils and flowers. Large mugs and dish sets, such as our small bowl groupings, are also popular gifts. Sets can be made-to-order or selected from our best sellers in our ready-to-ship section!

Personalization

All SKT pieces can be personalized. Adding a couples name and wedding date makes your gift a memorable keepsake. Orders for custom pieces with personalization can be selected from the personalized section of our website or ordered via email to studio@sktceramics.com. All made to order pieces require a lead time of 4-6 weeks and are available for shipping or pickup in Cincinnati at our Hyde Park studio or Findlay Market shop!

Registries

Did you know that SKT can create customized wedding registries? We will tailor a portal with your personalized story, with links to purchase SKT items you select from any of our numerous forms, or let your guests surprise you! SKT Ceramics - 2018 Artworks Big Pitch Finalist

SKT Ceramics is a finalist in the 2018 Artworks Big Pitch. The Big Pitch is a entrepreneurial competition that pairs local greater Cincinnati small businesses with 2 business and community mentors. SKT Ceramics is thrilled to have Michael Howard of US Bank and Tarita Preston of The Curated Coach on our team. Michael Howard is helping strategize SKT Ceramics’ next stage of growth. While Tarita Preston, an experienced life and leadership coach, is helping SKT improve communication with their team, their community, and their customers.

Of the finalists, one will win a $15,000 prize at the Big Pitch Night on September 25, 2018 at Memorial Hall in Downtown Cincinnati. Tickets for Pitch Night can be purchased for as little as $10. The audience will vote at the event to help select the winner! We would love to see you there!

If SKT won the $15,000 grand prize, we would put a down payment on a new Blaauw kiln. The Blaauw kiln is a computerized gas kiln that uses $5 worth of gas per firing which would greatly reduce our environmental impact. In addition, the kiln would increase safety for the studio team, reduce the glaze firing and cooling process from 4 days to 24 hours, and enable us to produce more pottery. Gas firing pottery is a dymanic process that can create inconsistencies in glaze color, but this kiln would help us produce consistent pieces every time. The kiln would be an integral part of SKT's new studio space in Walnut Hills. SKT Ceramics and Michael Miritello are currently renovating a historic theater building to create the combined Century Design Workshop.

At SKT Ceramics, we are honored to have been selected to participate in the 2018 Big Pitch. We are excited to learn from our mentors and get to know other local Cincinnati business owners. We appreciate the support of our customers, family, and friends as we strive to grow and improve our business. We hope to see you on September 25th for Pitch Night!
