After ten weeks of hard work and dedication the Artworks 2018 Big Pitch culminated at Pitch Night on Tuesday September 25, 2018. We learned a lot and gained many new connections with local businesses and mentors that have fostered positive change for our business. We would like to thank you for all of the in person and virtual support throughout this process!
SKT Ceramics was happy to add fellow participants Osmia Bee, Sweet Petit Desserts, Strange Stock Art Conservation, Madhouse Vinegar Company, Mortal Ski Company, Russo's Ravioli and Queen City Vignette to our network of fellow business owners and friends.
The night’s grand prize winner was Mortal Ski Company, who makes skis in downtown Cincinnati for sub-optimal midwestern skiing conditions. Russo's Ravioli won the audience choice award and we could not have been happier to see him up there accepting it on stage.
We would like to thank ArtWorks Cincinnati for all of the energy that they poured into SKT and for putting on a great pitch night. It was an honor to hove the opportunity get up on stage and represent SKT: our hard working employees, our kind customers and friends. Our community mentor Tarita Preston has helped initiate changes in SKT that will improve the process for a lifetime. Our banking mentor Michael Howard has been our champion since the beginning and is helping us find funding for our new kiln. We look forward to using all of the knowledge we have changed to make changes for the better leading to better and more organized work flow and lead times, putting us in the best position as we prepare for our next big journey in our own studio space at Century Design Workshop.
